About Heredita
A collaborative chalkboard for people who have thoughts about alternate history.
Who are you?
Heredita is made by four of us: Whirl, Digi, Legi and Hilmi. We met on the internet to make this!
We wanted somewhere history, geography and politics people could roleplay a country without it turning into a strategy game. They're fun, you should play them sometimes, but it's not what we want to do.
What we want to do is make a game where everyone can roleplay and have a blast doing it.
The part we care most about isn't the game as much as it is making a community who enjoys it and uses it for their own roleplay ideas.
Heredita is operated by Anywhere Connection Corporation. That's also just the four of us, but we made a company!
What you do
Roleplay anything
You roleplay what you want to do, see if it works, and draw it. You could found a city, or put a nation back on the map that hasn't been there since 1795.
The chat stays honest
Annexations are roleplayed in front of everyone. Nobody loses a province to a formula, and nobody wins one from one either.
Make the country yours
Flag, government, reforms, everything. Put it on the map and see if it'll survive... or better yet, make it survive.
Change history
Pick maps from all eras, alter a single decision, and play out what follows. Have fun diverging from history.
Talk it out
Chat is in the same window as the map, so treaties and wars happen while you're looking at the thing you're fighting over.
Run your own game
Host a server, write house rules, keep a thousand-year campaign going. That's always something you can do, and we'll help you do it.
Why not (my favorite strategy game)?
Strategy games are great, you should play them. There's definitely something different about roleplaying your country though, instead of playing a pre-determined strategy game. Roleplaying everything lets you make your country do just about anything you can justify, and that's fun.
Why not Pax Historia?
Pax Historia is a pretty neat concept, but at the end of the day it's just an LLM. Heredita is played with real people, so there's life outside your own country and its actions. You can also talk to others in our community, host games between your friends, and do whatever else suits your fancy. Also it's free, which is a lot cheaper than pay-per-token.
What will Heredita be?
The game will always be a thing, of course. We do want to grow a little bit more, though. We want to become the primary platform for geopolitical roleplay. Expect things like a web chat and forums in the medium-term future.
